Name: Sanis, Mira A.
Alias: Reaper.
Age: 27.
Species: Human.
Location: Hunters' Guild Residential District, module 3.
Appearance: Mira is five feet, six inches tall and weighs a hundred and thirty-four pounds. Her figure could best be described as "sculpted"- with long, toned legs, an hourglass waist (accentuated further by her hips and chest), and a powerful, yet equally feminine, build to her arms- as could her face. Her jawline curves lightly, which serves to soften the lines created by her high cheekbones- all in all giving her face an "old-world" quality not often seen. Her lips are full, with a natural shade close to the red of a cherry, and her upper lip bows slightly; her nose is neither too small nor too large, and unbroken. Mira's eyes stand out somewhat beneath slim eyebrows, being large and an almost chemical green in color- creating a striking contrast with her light, unmarked skin. Lending itself to further the contrast is her hair, with its bright, almost crimson tone; it falls straight, and is cut to fall just below her chin.
In the field, Mira typically wears a suit of form-fitting Sentinel light armor, matte black in color, with reinforcing plates covering her vital organs and major pressure points. Around her waist is a mesh belt, to which she normally clips grenades. Mira's feet are protected by a pair of calf-length boots of the type normally worn by female naval officers. Between contracts, she wears another suit of Sentinel armor- this time without the additional plating- modified to be sleeveless, and a pair of arm-length "opera-style" gloves, also black in color. Her footwear is incredibly varied, based on her surroundings.
Occupation: Hunters' Guild, Mage classification; Vindicators unit member.
Personality: Outwardly, Mira projects a cold, haughty demeanor, and enjoys leading would-be male admirers through their paces before utterly crushing them; indeed, most who have watched her follow this routine would swear that there is nothing more to her than the siren image she projects with her actions. Those few who Mira actually trusts, however, know this to be the furthest thing from the truth- they know her to be posessed of immense attachment- be it camaraderie or, in a very select few cases, love- but also that she struggles with an overwhelming sadness.
Equipment: None.
Armaments: CA Halberd, the blade of which is modified to be that of a scythe; U-250 photon submachine gun; a variety of grenades, based on her needs.
Ship: Death Hound, a Judicator fighter-craft.
Family:
-Father: Mayhew, Harrison; no relationship.
-Mother: Sanis, Colette; dead.
History: It is a sad fact that Mira Sanis' birth was, to be put bluntly, the result of corporate greed. Harrison Mayhew, the head of EmTech- a company dealing in communications technology and android components- sought to monopolize his field, but found staunch opposition in CombriCorp's CEO, Colette Sanis. Rather than simply having Sanis eliminated- as Mayhew's underground connections would easily have facilitated- Mayhew took another, more risky, route: the attempted wooing and courtship of Sanis. A behind-the-scenes affair began to develop between Sanis and Mayhew- but was cut short when Sanis turned up pregnant with Mira. In a fit of frustration and paranoia, Mayhew bought CombriCorp's entire public stock- giving him the means to dispose of Sanis without ever looking guilty. He "annexed" CC into his own holdings, removing Colette Sanis from her position.
Mira was born months later, in the back room of a hole-in-the-wall medical clinic in the Lower City. The primitive procedures used in the clinic brought Colette Sanis close to death, as she could no longer afford decent medical treatment- and she died shortly thereafter. Mira was passed on to an orphanage in the Lower City, where she lived until the end of the Colonial Civil War. During this time, Mira scraped together as many credits as she could- running with the smaller cargo pilots, acting as an extra pair of eyes and ears for Vigilance Body patrols (or, on occasion, doing the reverse and acting as a lookout for underground stim dealers), and salvaging what she could in the wake of the Lower City gangs' turf wars- with the hopes of starting up a new life on Reoun's surface.
Then something happened that would forever shape Mira's outlook on life. Near the end of the Colonial Civil War, she took an advertisement for a small-time, non-Guild shuttle pilot seeking an assistant for a run to New Zion to drop off solar energy arrays- or so she thought. The pilot she signed on to accompany, however, was in fact a FTA lieutenant who was laying low in order to covertly slip supplies to the guerillas' planetside war efforts. Mira was taken hostage by the pilot- a man going by the name of Ben Qallor- after a fierce struggle. Qallor inflicted a number of serious injuries on his hostage not only during this struggle, but after, as attested by Sanis herself. Though the full extent of his actions may never be known, the squadron of CASDF pilots who intercepted the shuttle were reportedly so sickened by Mira's account of what had transpired that one Airman Carlos Magden later infiltrated the Vigilance Body headquarters to kill Ben Qallor personally.
Mira was never drafted to fight in the First Interplanetary War, but instead enlisted to train as a Vigilance Body officer- to nip future cases like Qallor's in the bud. After a year of service as a Vigilance officer, however, Mira sought other work- as a Hunters' Guild member. She was tested for quantum proficiency, and was found to be greater in potential than even her instructors- and was inducted into the Guild without a formal test. Mira eagerly tore through contract after contract, and quickly garnered a reputation as a "shoot-first" individual. Indeed, her favored method of killing a target was to locate and burst all the major arteries in their body- a method that earned the nickname "Reaper."
The end of the First Interplanetary War brought an unexpected windfall Mira's way- in the form of a troubled war veteran-turned-Hunter going by the alias "Argus," who was reportedly forming an elite Hunting corps. She approached Argus in a bar located in the Upper Twenties, and offered her services as a Guild member- an offer Xan agreed to take up if Mira could beat him in a drinking contest. The rest of that night remains as distorted as the bottom of one of Xan's shot glasses- but it did lead to a rather intimate relationship forming between the two, as well as Mira's acceptance into the Vindicator unit.
Time passed, however, and both Mira's and Xan's past ghosts came back to haunt them. Her on-again, off-again connection with the Hunter, coupled with his survivor's guilt, proved to slowly become too much- and Argus' purchase of (and subsequent obsession with) the android Vista proved to be the proverbial "straw that broke the camel's back." Mira left Xan without warning one night, taking a majority of her effects, and moved into the residential district allotted to the Hunters' Guild members.
